Eleven Nansen pupils were invited to the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham to watch the Great Britain Davis Cup team train.
On arrival, yesterday morning, pupils watched Jamie Murray and Dominic Inglot practice from courtside, this was followed by a 15 minute Q&A session with Dominic Inglot where one of our pupils asked a question. Finally, the students had their photo taken with the Davis Cup. What an incredible experience.
CEO of CORE Education Trust, sponsor of Nansen, Adrian Packer said: “The British Davis Cup team are the ultimate sporting role models. It has been a privilege to see them in training this morning. Their achievement in winning the cup last year ranks as one of the greatest sporting triumphs in British sporting history. The children from Nansen were extremely fortunate to see the “history makers” in action today. British tennis is doing some incredible grass roots engagement work in schools and we are delighted and grateful to have benefited from this.”
